Little Emperor is one of those individuals that only come around once in a while, a true artist, singer, song writer, producer.
With a strong soulful voice and melodic songs he brings an honesty and meaning to his music that is hard to find these days. His approach to his song writing is refreshing and imaginative but with a familiarity that makes you feel like you grew up listening to his music. A fine example of modern British talent, it has been said that he falls somewhere between a British Ray Lamontagne and the mod father himself, Paul Weller, but pigeon holing this particular artist is easier said than done.
His songs about joy and fear, love, life and loss, resonate an impassioned life experience touched with sadness and a determination not to labour in melancholia but instead break out and cease the day.
His dynamic vocal performance is driven and emotive and betrays his experience as a solo live performer as well as a seasoned front man to enumerable bands and live acts.
Performing live is Little Emperors natural habitat but in the studio he is able to flex his creative muscles and loosened from the shackles of his solo status, employs all manner of swoops and flourishes to illustrate his musical visions.
Little Emperor heralds from the British home counties and after suffering a life changing back injury in 1999 moved to London to rebuild his life and establish himself a career in music.
He has played with, recorded and produced several successful bands and artists and has produced music for radio plays and short films, including the original soundtrack for the award winning short film ‘Love letter’.
He has an extensive back catalogue of tunes and a stunning solo live show. In which he incorporates looped guitar and vocal harmonies with blues harp and rootsie rhythm guitar, to showcase his soulful melodic songs.
